(89 Points: Wine Advocate) From Chasselas grown on stony glacial scree along the shores of Lake Geneva in the northern Savoie, tourist-destination Chateau de Ripaille's 2008 Vin de Savoie Ripaille smells of fresh peaches and lime with salted, toasted pumpkin seeds; coats the palate with salty, chalky traces that it is hard not to associate literally with its terroir; and refreshes in its long finish, yet with a richness that belies its mere 11.5% alcohol.
