Today the classic Lagrein area is generally considered to comprise the alluvial soils on the outskirts of South Tyrol’s main town, Bolzano, especially vineyards in the suburb of Gries. This wine has loads of personality. It is full of vibrant red fruit and crisp acidity. But it also possesses often-hard-to-describe quality of 11 years in bottle. What a treat at this price!
